The Texas Technology TEKS state that students will explore virtual environments, simulations, models, and programming languages to enhance learning.  What possible virtual environments can our students explore?  Although these are only a few to get you started, the links and resources listed below can enhance student engagement and learning. If you've not noticed, students love video and photo media!  So, instead of fighting their interest in apps such as Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter, educators may consider leveraging this interest in utilizing video for eduational, more meaningful purposes.   Flipgrid  has made this idea so easy.  Teachers can push out video, audio, or text prompts and collect student response videos in an instant!  To sign up for a  flipgrid  account, click  here  and follow the prompts. Seesaw - The Learning Journal  is a digital portfolio solution that can be used with even the youngest of students.  Students utilize the camera feature on their device to take photos of their work. They simply tap  I'm a Student , scan a QR code with the app's built-in QR code scanner and select the appropriate option. Students can add a recorded audio file, an annotated drawing over the photo or textbox straight from the app.  In addition, saved images from the camera roll, notes with or without recorded audio, web links, and now files from Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive can be uploaded as well. Students simply tap their name to add their item to their class journal. Teachers can turn on a  new items require approval  option in their Manage Class settings window to approve all items uploaded by students. From the makers of the Swivl , Recap is a video response app that makes the process of collecting student feedback a breeze! View the introductory video to see it in action. Video Credit Sign up for a free account here . Students can easily allow their webcam and microphone on their device and share video feedback to a teacher's unit or lesson. KISD Security Notice

Keller Readers, Data security is a process that evolves over time.  New threats emerge and new countermeasures are developed.  With that being said, the Keller ISD technology department would like to get ahead of the game.  In the near future, all staff will be required to change their network passwords.   This will be a multi-step process ( instructions here ).  The first step in this process will require you to answer two security questions.  These questions must be answered by Friday, April 14 th , 2017 .  Please refer to the step-by-step instructions .  In addition, KISD employees will receive emails in the future advising how to update your password.  We are serious about the security of our staff and student data and these measures will assist in keeping this information private. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.  Feel free to submit a TechHelp ticket with any questions or concerns.
