If you've not noticed, students love video and photo media!  So, instead of fighting their interest in apps such as Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter, educators may consider leveraging this interest in utilizing video for eduational, more meaningful purposes.   Flipgrid  has made this idea so easy.  Teachers can push out video, audio, or text prompts and collect student response videos in an instant!  To sign up for a  flipgrid  account, click  here  and follow the prompts. Seesaw - The Learning Journal  is a digital portfolio solution that can be used with even the youngest of students.  Students utilize the camera feature on their device to take photos of their work. They simply tap  I'm a Student , scan a QR code with the app's built-in QR code scanner and select the appropriate option. Students can add a recorded audio file, an annotated drawing over the photo or textbox straight from the app.  In addition, saved images from the camera roll, notes with or without recorded audio, web links, and now files from Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive can be uploaded as well. Students simply tap their name to add their item to their class journal. Teachers can turn on a  new items require approval  option in their Manage Class settings window to approve all items uploaded by students. When working with students and colleagues and Google docs, you have probably realized how loooooonnnngggg the links can be.  Well, shorten them!  Try one of the suggested ideas below. Go to goo.gl Sign into your Google account Paste your Google link into the  YOUR ORIGINAL URL HERE  field: Click the SHORTEN URL button: Click the COPY button: Paste the shortened link to your preferred location (email, webpage, Canvas page, etc.) or write it on the board for students.
